We invite you to read the PLJ #13 offered in print and distributed through Amazon. The articles in Portuguese and English in PLJ #13 offer an array of themes on the teaching of Portuguese. Beyond examining courses that give us new paths, it also focuses on the place of Literature, Linguistics, and Applied Linguistics as incredible resources in pursuit of higher levels of proficiency in speaking and writing. Articles also pay attention to the need for a pragmatic approach to the production of pedagogical material that focuses on particular grammatical aspects of the language, like article and pronouns, but also goes beyond and address questions of oral conversation and vague language, what is said and what is implied. Finally, it also problematizes the importance of a humanistic background and activities that foster intercultural attitudes and make space for difference and diversity in the process of teaching and learning of Portuguese.
